Meet Our Team in Wilmington, NC

As Wilmington’s premier dental practice, we staff the best of the best to ensure our patients have a one-of-a-kind experience while in our care. From teeth whitening and dental implants to emergency dentistry, our team is standing by to help you with all of your dental needs.

Dr. Sandra L. Miles

Dr. Miles graduated from the University of Indianapolis in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. After working for 3 years as a research biochemist, she decided that she wanted to dedicate a career to creating “pretty smiles.” So in 1988, dental school began at Indiana University School of Dentistry and there hasn't been any looking back. After the birth of her twins in 1991, she continued to work hard at her dental school studies and clinical work. She graduated in May of 1992, just before moving to North Carolina to take the state dental boards. She received her license in June of 1992 and began practicing the “art” of dentistry.

She opened her own practice in 1996 at the current location on the corner of 16th and Market Street. She and her staff have strived, from the onset of the dental practice, to commit themselves to offer only the highest-quality service using the most up-to-date equipment and techniques for their patients. The experience of your dental visit will ensure that you achieve confidence and satisfaction in our practice. We all look forward to seeing you soon for all of your concerns and dental needs.

Dr. Jaimee A. Michael

Dr. Michael graduated from East Carolina University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, a minor in Business Administration, and a Certificate in Global Understanding, after completing research, a study abroad program, and a cardiac rehab internship. Leading up to dental school, she worked as an oral surgery sterilization technician and dental assistant for 4 years and volunteered at several NC M.O.M. Dental Clinics, statewide, and St. Mary’s Dental Clinic, locally.

 

During her time at UNC Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry, she participated in organizations such as the American Student Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry, became a student coordinator for the Samaritan Health Center Dental Clinic in Durham, and attended dental conferences in Greenville, SC and Atlanta, GA. She graduated in 2022 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery before moving back to Wilmington to join her mother’s practice. She is very excited for the opportunity to work alongside this amazing team and is dedicated to patient comfort and understanding while providing comprehensive and compassionate dental care.

 

Outside of the office, Dr. Michael, her husband, her stepson, and their 3 pups enjoy spending quality time with family and friends as well as boating, firepit hangouts, movies, and music.


Olivia Mills, RDH

Olivia joined our office as a part-time hygienist in October of 2004, but quickly became full-timer later that same year. She graduated from Coastal Community College Dental Hygiene in June of 2004. Through her enthusiasm, she has brought a bright attitude to the office that our patients and staff appreciate.

She is a motivated person and loves working with her patients. She is eager to educate her patients and answer any of the questions they may have about the most up-to-date modern dental techniques available to them. Her patients are thrilled with her gentle touch and thorough treatment. She enjoys working out and walking with her dog (also named Olivia) whom she rescued in 2016.

She also volunteers at an animal sanctuary. She loves all the animals, but she has an extra strong love for the resident pigs, Francis and Patrick.

Annette Lewis, RDH

Annette came to our team in 2014. She has been a positive addition to our office with her dedication to her field. She is the consummate teacher and strives to help her patients in every way possible. She also helps out in other offices in town the other days of the week, but you can find her here on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

She married her best friend in 2015. She is the mother of two grown women and a doting grandmother to 4 beautiful grandchildren. She likes to walk on the beach and has just recently taken up paddle boarding. We look forward to having her with us for years to come. 

Joanie Eschert, CDA

Joanie came to our team in July 2007. She has been enjoying her career as a dental assistant since 1993. She is originally from New Jersey, where she received her formal education in dental assisting. She has lived in Wilmington since she graduated in 1994 and is married to Bill, the love of her life.

She has enjoyed the transition from her long-time employment with her previous dentist to our office. She has been using these skills to help our patient family obtain the best-quality dentistry available. Her enthusiasm transcends to those around her, and her genuine concern helps to make her patients feel comfortable and assured during their visits.

We all look forward to having her with us for many more years to come. In addition to being a phenomenal dental assistant, she loves to read and cook, and she enjoys chocolate any chance she gets. She is also the proud grandma of a beautiful boy!

Bethany Brasili, CDA

Bethany has worked as a certified dental assistant for over 25 years. She worked with us shortly after the practice opened for six years, and has just recently returned. She brings a passion for developing personal relationships with her patients, and is committed to making each and every patients trip to the office, an enjoyable one!

Austin Ott, DAII — Wilmington, NC — Sandra Miles Dentistry

Austin Ott, DAII

Austin relocated from Wake Forest to Wilmington to become Dr. Michael’s full time dental assistant in April 2023. She graduated from Wake Technical Community College Dental Assisting program in 2019. Through her compassionate personality, she enjoys helping patients with both Dr. Miles and Dr. Michael. She is a hands on person and loves working with her patients and her new dental family. 


When Austin is not working, she enjoys doing CrossFit, going to Topsil beach, and exploring what Wilmington has to offer. She is a fur mamma to Peanut! Her little brown wiener dog.

Tracy Coleman

Tracy has worked with us since early 2003. Bryce is a freshmen in college this year. Her younger son Kellan is in middle school. They both play baseball, and they are good at it! This keeps the whole family busy with games and traveling. She also enjoys the boat and spending time with her family. Their newest addition came in February 2020. A Boxer named Kai.

Amanda Horton

Amanda joined the practice in August of 2022. She comes with over 15 years of dental experience with management and helping patients maximize their dental insurance.

 

She enjoys spending her time with her daughter and her dog Biscuit and 2 Cats Batman and Robin.

 


Gracie and Lola

Dr. Miles rescued Gracie and Lola in November 2009 and they have been showing off their big personalities in the office ever since. 

We are all animal lovers and would love for you to meet your four-legged family members. Our patients love seeing the dogs when they come to visit and many have brought their babies in, too!

Lola

Gracie was the greatest friend to Lola, but she got sick and crossed over the rainbow bridge in November 2021. She was 19 years old, so we are grateful for every minute we had with her!

Lola is now 14 years old and still comes to work with Dr. Miles every day. She's not ready to retire quite yet!

Michael

Michael is our newest member at the office. He is a Clumber Spaniel. He loves to chew everything!! 

Livvie

Livvie is Olivia's gentle and sweet girl. 

She is very shy when she is here at the office, so she spends most of her time at home with her sister. But she has gotten more outgoing and loves a good chin rub!

Daisy May

Daisy May is Joanie's Maltipoo, full of spunk and ready to give kisses and cuddles! She joined our office in May of 2021 and is so easy to love!

Rosie

Rosie is Daisy May's little Maltipoo sister. She joined our office in August of 2022 and is as cute as can be with lots of energy and all the kisses to give!

Kai

As you can see from the photo, Kai acts like he owns the place. He is retired from his hard days at work, and now enjoys sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying a baseball game. He's been a great addition to our family!
